Information Officer
As a private body, Venom Racing's Information Officer is the head of the business, who is responsible for encouraging and overseeing compliance with POPIA and for dealing with requests from data subjects and the Information Regulator.
The eight conditions in practice
| Condition | What we do |
|---|---|
| Accountability | Our Information Officer oversees compliance, and these policies are reviewed when our processes change. |
| Processing limitation | We collect only what is needed to answer enquiries and carry out work, on a lawful basis, and mostly directly from you. |
| Purpose specification | Each purpose is set out in our Privacy Policy, and records are kept no longer than needed. |
| Further processing limitation | We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to why you gave it to us. |
| Information quality | We confirm details with you when you book, and correct them whenever you ask. |
| Openness | Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and this page explain what we collect and why, and our PAIA information is published. |
| Security safeguards | Encrypted connections, restricted sign-in access, database access rules, spam protection and operator agreements. Breaches are reported as section 22 requires. |
| Data subject participation | You can access, correct and delete your information as described below. |
Your rights
- Access - to ask whether we hold your information and to receive a record of it (section 23).
